Kep International Tourism Port Set for Inauguration Next Week

The construction of the US$1.2 million tourism port in Kep has been completed and is set to be inaugurated next week, according to the Kep provincial administration.

Once operational, the port will serve to transport tourists to Koh Tonsay Island and to the tourism ports of neighbouring Vietnam, said HE Som Piseth, Governor of Kep Province.

The port can accommodate ships with a capacity of 300 passengers, he said.

The international tourism port was built on the site of the old port in Kep city in 2019 over a total area of nearly 5,000 sqm, using the national budget of US$1.2 million.

Besides the port on Kep mainland, on Koh Tonsay Island, the Kep provincial administration is also building a tourism port worth nearly US$7 million, via a loan from the Asian Development Bank. (Read more)
