MLMUPC Launches Permanent Satellite Stations in Five Provinces

The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC) has launched permanent satellite measuring stations (CORS) in Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampong Speu, Siem Reap and Stung Treng provinces.

According to Prakas No. 154 DONS / PRK dated 27 October 2022, the station will be used for measurement, data acquisition, mapping, physical infrastructure construction, quality control, construction, communication network, smart city planning, and other related tasks.

CORS is a national network that is measured by satellites and receives signals from the GNSS satellite system.

The signals received from the GNSS are used for measurements, geolocation, monitoring of the Earth’s crust, and other scientific studies.
