2023 Cambodia-Indonesia trade volume reaches more than USD1 billion, an increase of 15%

In 2023, the trade volume between Cambodia and Indonesia reached more than USD1 billion, marking a 15% increase compared to the same period in 2022.

This information was shared by Lok Chumteav Chamnimol, Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, during the opening ceremony of the “Hello Indonesia” exhibition on September 13, 2024.

Lok Chumteav stated that the bilateral trade volume between the two countries in the previous year exceeded USD1 billion, signifying a 15% growth compared to 2022. She expressed strong confidence that in 2024, the trade volume would continue to rise due to innovative initiatives such as the “Hello Indonesia” event and improved cooperation between the governments of both countries in recent trade activities.

Furthermore, the Minister encouraged the private sector to actively participate and organize similar events in both Cambodia and Indonesia to explore new potential opportunities and establish new partnerships.

Before concluding, the Minister announced that the Ministry of Commerce would host the “17th Cambodian Products and Import-Export Fair (CIEGE)” from December 13 to 16, 2024, at PH Grand Hall, Borey Peng Huoth, Boeung Snor, Phnom Penh. This event aims to promote trade, investment, and private-sector development activities with the participation of numerous national and international exhibitors.
