463 Factories Operate in Six Districts in Kampong Cham

Kampong Cham province has attracted investors to invest in many development projects. 463 projects and factories are operating in six cities in districts in Kampong Cham province. 

In a press conference on 3 February, Kampong Cham Governor HE Un Chanda said that in the labour field, there are a total of 463 enterprises and factories in Kampong Cham, which employed a total of 44,635 workers, including 34,360 women. 

Among the total enterprises, six districts, including Batheay, Cheung Prey, Prey Chhor, Kang Meas, Kampong Siem and Kampong Cham districts, have attracted 22 garment and shoes factory projects, employing  32,453 workers. 

HE Un Chanda added that the total economic volume of Kampong Cham Province is 7, 392, 738 million Riels, approximately US$1.8 billion, which is equivalent to 6.7% of the total national economy. 

The key sectors in the province are agriculture, services and industry. The agricultural sector contributed 41.1% of the provincial economy, increasing from 3.6% to 4% in 2021. The service sector contributed 37.7%, which decreased by 5.9%, while the industrial sector contributed 21.2%, increasing 11.3% year to year.
