Cambodia to welcome first Autograph Collection hotel in early 2022

Global hospitality firm Marriott International signed an agreement with local developer Wywaza Investment on 08 August 2019 to bring the first Autograph Collection Hotel into the kingdom under the name KHŌM Hotel.

Located in the heart of Phnom Penh in front of Wat Botum Park, KHŌM hotel will comprise of 130 rooms, designed to showcase a combination between traditional Khmer culture with a modern environment.

This new high-end hotel will also include other amenities such as a themed specialty restaurant, casual cafe, flexible buffet set-up, sky bar, swimming pool, gym, spa, and other facilities to offer guests a unique hospitality experience.

Developed by Wywaza Investment, the hotel is expected to complete the construction and open for service by early 2022.

Douk Dien, CEO of Wywaza Investment, expressed his optimism that collaboration between his company and Marriott International will only bring prosperity to the hospitality sector in Cambodia.

“We are proud to be teaming up with Marriott International by bringing the diverse Autograph Collection Hotel brand to the kingdom. Thanks to Marriott International’s commitment to distinctive brand offerings and service standards, the upcoming hotel will be a success,” said Mr Dien.

Paul Foskey, Marriott International’s chief development officer for Asia Pacific, also noted that the arrival of Marriot International Hotel in Cambodia will also help contribute a lot to the growth of tourism and the hospitality sector in Cambodia.

“We saw a potential market here in Cambodia which is why we partnered with Wywaza Investment on the introduction of The KHŌM Hotel, the first Autograph Collection brand in this market,” he said at the partnership signing ceremony.

Autograph Collection is a collection of independent upper-upscale to luxury hotels within the Marriott International portfolio of brands. Hotels in the Autograph Collection are independently owned and are operated/licensed under the Autograph Collection name.

Beside KHOM hotel, Cambodia is also preparing to welcome another US$150 million Marriott International hotel namely Fairfield by Marriott Hotel Phnom Penh. The hotel is currently under construction and is also expected to open in 2022. (Read More)
