Hotels in Sihanoukville Ordered to Close After Two Cases Found Linked to 20 February Incident

Four hotels and one apartment block in Sihanoukville have been ordered to close after two Chinese guests tested positive for COVID-19 and found to be linked to the 20 February community outbreak.

According to an announcement by the Sihanoukville Administration’s on 23 February, the hotels locked down are the three branches of Jin Bei Hotels, the Gang Guan Jiayi Hotel, and a staff apartment of the Jin Bei Hotel.

The two cases are both Chinese women who currently are receiving treatment at the Sihanouk Provincial Hospital.

The Sihanoukville Provincial Administration also called on people who used to stay at those four hotels to come, take the test, and do the 14-day quarantine.

As of the morning of 24 February, Cambodia has a total of 633 cases, 142 of which are being hospitalised.
