Gov’t Taking Action Against Coastal Land Encroachers in Koh Kong and Sihanoukville

The Sihanoukville and Koh Kong provincial administrations have been taking serious actions to put an end to state land encroachment activities, following the recent unauthorised sea and canal reclamation.

According to the Sihanoukville Provincial Administration’s a warning letter was issued on 15 March, for the spot where the encroacher/s filled up the sea located in front of the Cambodia Tela company in village 4, Otres commune in Stung Hav district.

The warning letter also called for the encroacher/s to come forward and remove their illegal reclamation, otherwise, the officials will take legal actions accordingly.

On the same day, the Mondul Seima District Chief Prak Vichet also led relevant officials to inspect the illegal landfilling activities at the canal in Tuol Korki Krom village of Tuol Korkir commune.

While taking immediate action to halt the unauthorised reclamation, the district chief also called for the encroacher/s to come forward, or otherwise will face serious legal action.
