Authorities Close More Factories, Markets, Business Centres in Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville Provincial Administration has decided to temporarily suspend the operation of three major businesses in Sihanoukville for 14 days after finding more positive cases of COVID-19.

According to the official announcement issued on 26 April, the three businesses include; Dara Samnang Business Center located in Village 3, Sangkat 1; New Star shoe factory in Village 1, Sangkat 1; and Yeay Touch New Star market in Village 1, Sangkat 1.

The Sihanoukville administration also asked all business owners within those three places to cooperate with the medical team in testing procedure.

As the number of cases nationwide is still surging, the government has so far turned many properties and venues into COVID-10 treatment facilities. Recently, the government decided to use the indoor building of the National Olympic Stadium as a COVID-10 as a treatment facility as well.

In addition, the government will continue to the lockdown of Phnom Penh and Takhmao for another 7 days, while inter-provincial travel is permitted.
