Fifth Largest Bottle Manufacturer in the World Invests to Expand Market in Cambodia

Swire is a leading brand of beverage bottles in the United States and the fifth largest producer of Coca-Cola bottles in the world.

Swire in Hong Kong recently announced a US$1.01 billion investment to expand the Coca-Cola market in Cambodia and Vietnam, according to Nikkei Asia on 18 July 2022.

“This expansion of territories is part of a broader strategy to expand the global scale, volume, and revenues of our bottling business,” said Patrick Healy, Swire’s board of directors and also chairman of both the group’s Coca-Cola business and Cathay Pacific Airways.

According to a report by Swire in Hong Kong, the post-tax profit of Coca-Cola in Vietnam was US$ 32 million, compared to US$3.8 million in Cambodia.

Swire states that those units are the largest carbonated soft drink players in each country, holding three bottling facilities in Vietnam and one in Cambodia.
