ADB Provides US$62.9m Loan to Build Infrastructure in Nine Provinces

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has provided US$62.9 million to build infrastructure in Cambodia’s nine provinces to boost the health sector and the value chain of livestock, trade and livestock production. 

According to a press release on 13 December, with the total loan, US$50 million is ADB concessions, US$12 million is a grant from the Asian Development Fund (ADF), and another US$900,000 is a grant from the Climate Change Fund (CCF). 

Meanwhile, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will also provide about US$43 million in loans. 

The projects will help up to 40,000 families in Kampong Cham, Oddar Meanchey, Prey Veng, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Takeo by promoting investment in key infrastructure, technical and institutional capacity, as well as some policy development. 

The project will also build infrastructure in Kandal, Kampong Thom and Pursat provinces to meet the nationwide demand for animal breeding and vaccination. 

In addition, this fund will also strengthen livestock production and resilience activities by reducing the risk of communicable diseases, combating infectious diseases, and establishing health checks and transport services.
