Takeo Authorities Issue Over 600K Land Titles by 2022

Takeo province has made significant progress in land management and registration, with authorities announcing that a total of 645,687 land titles have been systematically registered for people in 84 communes as of 2022. This was confirmed by HE Ouch Phea, Governor of Takeo Province, on 2 March.

According to the governor, the provincial administration has issued a total of 165,220 title deeds to the people in the last five years, while the working group has implemented systematic land registration to achieve 278 villages in 32 communes across five districts. In addition, the provincial administration has issued 275 plots of land ownership certificates for separate land registration.

The systematic land registration work has been carried out within the framework of the Land Administration Sub-program, with a focus on land management, urban planning, construction, and cadastre of the province. This has enabled the province to achieve significant milestones in terms of land registration, providing much-needed security of land tenure to residents and promoting the growth of the real estate sector.

The efforts of the Takeo authorities in land management and registration have been commendable. The systematic registration of land titles is an important step towards achieving Cambodia’s more efficient and transparent land administration system.
