Over 97% of 7M Land Title Registration Complete as PM urges to Complete100% by 2023

The land registration process in Cambodia is almost complete, with over 97 percent of the total 7 million land titles registered nationwide, according to a statement from HE Chea Sophara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction. This achievement provides long-term security for Cambodian landowners and investor confidence.

During a meeting with Ms. Kamei Haruko, Chief Representative of JICA in Cambodia on 27 March 2023, HE Chea Sophara stated that the government aims to complete the land registration process by 2023, as per the instructions from Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

HE deputy prime minister said that Cambodia now has registered 97.2% of land among the total 7 million titles nationwide, and He called this achievement could provide not only the security in long-term land tenure of Cambodian people but also the confidence to all investors.

Recently, Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen had just instructed the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction to 100% complete the land registration by 2023 and to consider this as a service to the people.

Land registration is important to the government’s efforts to modernize Cambodia’s land management and urban planning system. It also contributes to the government’s goal of ensuring that all Cambodians have secure land tenure. (Read more)
