Mondulkiri Registers 4 Million Hectares of Land in Five Years

Mondulkiri province has successfully completed the registration of 4 million hectares of land belonging to the local people and government institutions in the last five years, according to HE Sorn Sarun, Deputy Governor of Mondulkiri Province.

The registration process was carried out systematically in 48 villages, with a total of 10 villages issuing 2,969 titles for 2,063 families equal to the total of ​​4,824,233 hectares of land. The remaining villages are expected to be registered soon.

In addition to the land registration for local communities, the provincial authorities have also issued 50K hectares of land titles for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Environment. This includes 47 titles for a total area of ​​27,056 hectares of land for six companies and two forest restoration stations with four titles and 9,100 hectares of land.

The authorities have also issued titles for 53 areas of Phnom Prich wildlife sanctuaries covering 17,000 hectares of land. The provincial administration has received a total of 372ha registration applications for Sre Pok Wildlife Sanctuary, the Deputy Governor confirmed.

The registration of land in Mondulkiri province is an important step towards ensuring that the land is properly managed and protected. The registration process provides legal recognition of land ownership, which is crucial for sustainable development and the protection of people’s rights.

According to HE Sorn Sarun, the land registration in Mondulkiri is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen land management and promote sustainable development.
