Exclusive Bus Lines Launched by Government for Seamless Access to Phnom Penh’s Spectacular SEA Games

To ensure hassle-free transportation for national and international visitors attending the highly anticipated 32nd Southeast Asian Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games 2023, the Phnom Penh Capital Administration has introduced two dedicated express bus lines. This announcement, made on 5 May 2023, underscores the government’s commitment to providing convenient and efficient travel options during these prestigious sporting events.

Operated free of charge from 5 May to 9 June 2023, the specially designated bus lines offer enhanced accessibility and seamless connectivity for attendees. Designed to cater to the influx of visitors, these two lines encompass strategic routes and essential stops, guaranteeing smooth journeys throughout the city.

Line 1 commences its route from the Koh Pich bus stop along Sisowath Quay, heading towards the bus stop of Morakot Techo National Stadium. Notable locations covered by this line include the 1st and 2nd avenues of NagaWorld Hotel, Sisowath Quay, Kouch Kanong roundabout, the historic Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Stadium, the Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge, the Dinosaur Elephant Race venue, OCIC Convention and Exhibition Center in Borey Rongroeung, and the Phnom Penh Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC). Continuing on National Road 6A, the line stops at the Garden City Golf Course before concluding at the Techo Heritage National Stadium.

Line 2, originating from the bus stop of the National Olympic Stadium along the Boulevard of the Russian Federation, traverses Monivong Blvd. en route to the Moradok Techo National Stadium. Stops of significance along this route include the Kouch Kanong roundabout, the esteemed Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Stadium, Oknha Khleang Moeung Street through Camko City Development Zone, the renowned Phnom Penh Crown Football Club, the Prince Stadium, and the Victory Boulevard before reaching the final stop at the Moradok Techo National Stadium.

These meticulously planned bus lines aim to provide convenient and efficient transportation options, allowing spectators and participants to fully immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games which will be held in 5 capitals and provinces and 17 locations. With these 17 locations, 14 locations within Phnom Penh, along with additional 2 venues in Siem Reap, 2 in Sihanoukville, 1 in Kampot, and 1 in Kep, the upcoming events promise to captivate sports enthusiasts and promote a spirit of unity and healthy competition.
