Gov’t Greenlights Fee Increases for Airline Services

The Cambodian government has issued a notification sanctioning the SCA Airport Concession Company to revise airfare and related airline service charges for a five-year period, commencing from 1 September 2023 to 1 September 2028.

This pivotal decision aims to enhance the quality of passenger services and aviation facilities provided by the SCA concession firm, which includes services such as landing, parking, lighting, and aerobridge facilities.

According to a notification dated 11 September 2023, international flight charges for Cambodian adults have been adjusted to US$23, an increase from the previous US$18, while international flight charges for foreign adults have risen to US$30, up from US$25. The revised rates also encompass children under 12, with charges for Cambodian children now set at US$15, compared to the previous US$10, and foreign children at US$18, up from US$13.

Passenger service charges for domestic flights, applicable to all passengers, remain unchanged at US$5 for Cambodians and US$6 for foreigners.

In the realm of airport services, the charges for landing, parking, lighting, and aerobridge have been recalibrated, with the new rate set at US$578 per aircraft, representing a notable increase from the previous US$445.

These adjustments in fees are not merely fiscal modifications but strategic investments in Cambodia’s aviation infrastructure. The increased revenue will be channelled back into the development and enhancement of passenger services and aviation facilities, ensuring that Cambodia’s airports meet global standards of excellence.
