Banks and microfinance institutions disbursed an impressive sum of $57.8 billion (equivalent to 238.7 trillion riels), signifying an impressive year-on-year increase of 10.5%. This financial injection has been instrumental in driving various sectors of the economy.

These substantial loans have been strategically allocated across a spectrum of sectors, including wholesale and retail trade, home ownership, agriculture, real estate services, construction, manufacturing, and more. The diversification of these investments underscores Cambodia’s commitment to fostering a robust and well-rounded economy.

Notably, the real estate sector has been a significant beneficiary of these loans, with more than $6.9 billion allocated for property investments. Of this, the real estate industry received over $4.7 billion, while the construction sector secured more than $4.4 billion.
