University of Digital Economics, Veal Sbov Branch, Valued at Over US$6 Million, Officially Unveiled by PM Hun Manet

The University of Digital Economics and Technology, worth more than US$6 million, built on 6 hectares of land in Veal Sbov Village, Sangkat Veal Sbov, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh, has been officially inaugurated.

The grand inauguration of the University of Digital Economics and Technology’s new branch, an investment exceeding US$6 million, situated on a sprawling 6-hectare campus in Veal Sbov Village, Phnom Penh, marked a significant milestone in Cambodia’s academic landscape. The esteemed ceremony was presided over by Samdech Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, on February 15, 2024.

The state-of-the-art facility, boasting a four-story building with 15 rooms, is the latest addition to the National University of Management, renowned for its consistent placement in the World University Rankings for Innovations, and stands as the Faculty of Economics and Digital Technology.

The meticulous development, spanning almost five years, encompasses robust physical and software infrastructure, along with the crafting of cutting-edge curricula aligning with contemporary trends. The Faculty’s focus on “digital technology” aligns seamlessly with Cambodia’s aspirations for economic and societal digital transformation amid the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Established on December 3, 2021, under the leadership of HE Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, the University of Digital Economics positions itself as a key player in realizing Cambodia’s vision of becoming a high-middle-income country by 2030 and achieving developed status by 2050. The institution’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering innovation is poised to shape the future of Cambodia’s digital landscape.
