Canadian Investors Explores Investment Opportunities in Six Key Sectors in Cambodia

A business delegation from the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce in Montreal, Canada, recently met with the Council for the Development of Cambodia to explore investment opportunities in six major sectors: agriculture and processing, tourism, health, real estate, services, and industry. The meeting, aimed at fostering stronger economic ties, took place on 5 June 2024.HE Nuth Un Vanra, Deputy Secretary General of the Investment Committee of Cambodia, emphasized Cambodia’s favourable investment climate, highlighting the government’s support for a market economy through comprehensive legal frameworks, policy measures, and attractive investment incentives.

Kelvin Mo, President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, expressed optimism about the investment potential in Cambodia, noting the benefits for the Canadian business community seeking to expand their activities in the region.

Canada is Cambodia’s eighth-largest trading partner, with Canadian direct investment in Cambodia reaching US$2.062 billion in 2022. Moreover, Canada provides tariff-free quotas to Cambodia for items such as clothing, footwear, and textiles, further bolstering trade relations.
