WB grants USD80 million to develop the education sector and renovate 147 laboratories in Cambodia

The World Bank has approved USD80 million in financing to improve the quality of education and research at the tertiary level in Cambodia.

The funding will renovate 147 laboratories and support nine public higher education institutions over six years.

The project aims to train students, particularly focusing on female students and those with disabilities, and to support women who are teachers or college staff.

It also prioritizes climate change research projects and climate-resilient infrastructure standards.

The project will build on the success of previous initiatives, benefiting approximately 32,000 students, including 13,000 female students, through curriculum updates, trainer training, and digitalized education provision.
