Cambodia Earns Over USD 33m from Angkor, Koh Ker & Boat Ride Ticket Sales in 9 Months

In nine months of 2024, Cambodia generated a remarkable USD 33,284,233 from ticket sales for Angkor, Koh Ker, and boat rides, reflecting the growing influx of international tourism. Of this, USD 32,522,730 was collected from 699,850 foreign tourists purchasing tickets to visit Angkor, marking a 30.32% increase compared to the same period last year, according to a report from the Angkor Institute on 1 October 2024.

The report further detailed that in August 2024 alone, ticket sales for Angkor reached USD 2,188,501 from 47,993 foreign visitors, representing a 17.44% rise compared to August 2023. Additionally, selling tickets for Koh Ker temple brought in USD 208,050, while boat ride tickets contributed USD 553,453 to the total revenue over the same period.

Ticket prices for international tourists visiting Angkor are set at USD 37 for a one-day pass, USD 62 for a three-day pass, and USD 72 for a week-long visit. To enhance the visitor experience, the Cambodian government has introduced six major reforms to improve the ticket-selling process and inspection procedures at Angkor Wat. (Read more)
