Two Chinese Firms to Expand Investment in Cambodia with New Garment Factories

Fortune Rich Trade Co., Ltd. and Ju Wang Footwear Co., Ltd., two prominent Chinese firms, have announced plans to establish additional garment factories in Cambodia, focusing on producing women’s and children’s clothing for international markets.

This significant investment initiative was unveiled during a meeting with PM Hun Manet on 6 November 2024 in Kunming, Yunnan province, as part of the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit.

During the meeting, the executives from both companies expressed gratitude for Cambodia’s stable investment environment, crediting the government’s supportive policies for their current success. They outlined their expansion strategy, highlighting the goal of strengthening Cambodia’s position as a manufacturing hub in the global textile industry.

PM Hun Manet commended the companies for their contributions to Cambodia’s growing textile and garment sector, which has been a key driver of economic growth. He reiterated the Royal Government’s commitment to fostering an investment-friendly climate to attract and retain foreign investors.

This expansion aligns with Cambodia’s ambition to become a leading global textile supply chain player. The new factories are expected to create significant employment opportunities and contribute to the nation’s economic development through increased exports and industrial capacity.
