Cambodia Sees Strong Export Growth in First 10 Months of 2024
In a promising economic development, Cambodia has exported nearly $22 billion worth of goods to international markets from January to October 2024, marking a significant 16% increase compared to the same period last year. The Ministry of Information reported this on November 13, 2024.
The data highlights that exports to the United States alone surpassed $8.2 billion, contributing significantly to the overall growth. Exports to China reached over USD 1.4 billion—up 21.1%—while Japan saw an increase of 18%, with exports exceeding USD 1.1 billion.
Cambodia’s exports remain diverse, including garments and accessories, machinery, electrical equipment, rubber products, and various agricultural goods.
On the flip side, imports have also seen notable figures, including minerals, fuels, refined products, machinery, and electrical components. Cambodia imported USD 3.4 billion worth of goods from Vietnam, which represents a nearly 14.5% increase year-on-year, while exports to Vietnam reached USD 2.9 billion, up over 32.1%.
These figures showcase Cambodia’s growing role in international trade and its recovery trajectory in the global market.
