Cambodia’s Trade Volume Surges, Exceeds USD 25 Billion in First Five Months of 2025

In a noteworthy development for the Cambodian economy, trade volume between Cambodia and its international partners has surpassed USD 25 billion in the first five months of 2025, marking an impressive increase of 18.5% compared to the same period last year. This information is detailed in a recent report from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia.

During this five-month period, Cambodia’s exports reached USD 11.80 billion, up 17.2%, while the value of re-imported goods climbed to USD 13.48 billion, reflecting a robust 19.7% increase. These figures underscore the Kingdom’s growing engagement in global trade, supported by a diverse range of goods.

Notably, Cambodia’s key trading partners have shown significant growth. Trade with China alone reached USD 7.6 million, a remarkable jump of 27.5%. The United States followed closely with USD 4.4 million, up 27%, while Vietnam accounted for USD 3.8 million, an increase of 8%. Additionally, trade with Thailand was recorded at USD 1.8 million, climbing by 8.3%, and Japan reported over USD 1 million, reflecting a robust growth of 28%.

The primary exports from Cambodia continue to be clothing, footwear, rubber, agricultural products, and electrical components, contributing to the country’s vibrant trade landscape.

As Cambodia strengthens its global trade relationships, these promising figures highlight the nation’s economic resilience and potential for future growth.
