ADB provides more than US$ 32m in financing for border welfare

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved $ 32.5 million in financing to improve access to quality health care in Banteay Meanchey, a border province in northwestern Cambodia. This is according to the press release on October 20, 2022, of the Asian Development Bank.

This border area is an area where migrants leave and return, as well as a location for job seekers in the province’s special economic zones.

Through the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Health Project of Cambodia, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will increase concessional loans of US $ 27 million and grant up to US $ 5.5 million to the Royal Government of Cambodia to build and equip health facilities. In the border areas.

Not only that, the project will expand financial protection related to health care for migrants and strengthen the health system for the integration of cross-border health services, including the creation of a mobile electronic health record for migrants.
