APSARA Authority Approves Over 390 Construction Projects in Angkor Park in Jan-Sept

From January to September this year, the Department of Land and Habitat Management in the Angkor Park of APSARA National Authority has given construction permits to a total of 392 families to build their new homes within the Angkor Archaeological Park.

According to the announcement of the APSARA Authority on 20 October, the permissions were granted for 61 cases in January, 73 cases in February, 39 cases in March, 33 cases in April, 48 cases in May, 13 cases in June, 41 cases in July, 55 cases in August and 29 cases in September.

All house construction requests are free of charge, said the authority.

Besides providing permits, the authority also regularly inspects, consults, and provides technical assistance on construction to ensure the safety and efficiency.

Before building or renovating any houses, all residents must apply for the permit at the service centre of the APSARA Authority, or at any one-stop-service centre where the house is located, including the Siem Reap city, Mondul 3, Angkor Thom, Banteay Srei, and Puok districts.

When approved, the APSARA Authority will provide the building permit along with a free technical architectural plan and consultancy service, to ensure the construction does not affect the heritage site.
