As of Q1 of 2022, CDC Approves 47 Investment Projects, a 6.8% Increase Compared to the Same Period in 2021

As of the first quarter of 2022, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) had approved 47 investment projects, an increase of 3 projects, equivalent to 6.8%, with a total capital investment of US$2,520.6 million which increased by 14. 2% compared to the same period in 2021, according to the First Quarter 2022 Cambodian Economic and Financial Statistics Bulletin.

There were only four investment projects in special economic zones, a decrease in a number of 75%, with a total capital investment of US$301.18 million, a decrease of 79.8%, compared to the first quarter of 2021.

Meanwhile, the CDC approved 43 investment projects outside special economic zones, an increase of 15 projects or 53.6% with a total capital investment of US$2,219.4 million, an increase of 210.3%, compared to the same period in 2021.

These investment projects include logistics centres and multi-purpose ports, hydropower, tyre factories, hotels, cement factories, banana and other fruit farms, car assembly factories and polyclinic hospitals.
