Battambang Governor Urges Japan to Establish SEZs & Smart Cities in Battambang

Japanese investors will visit Battambang province in April to study the feasibility of establishing agricultural product processing factories, special economic zones (SEZs), and a smart city in the province.

The visiting plan was proposed during the meeting between Battambang Governor HE Sok Lou and the Director of the Japan-Cambodia Association Tamura Tsutomu on 2 February.

HE Sok Lou told the association that Battambang is a province with rich agricultural potential, but with many agricultural products yet to have processing plants.

Therefore, the governor requested the association to help attract Japanese investors to invest in the establishment of SEZs or agricultural processing plants in Battambang to promote exports and create jobs for local people.

In response, the association will visit to find out the potential during April.
