PM: Cambodia Extracts 137kg of Gold on Average per Month

Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen said on Sunday that Cambodia can extract on average approximately 137kg of gold per month.

The announcement comes after an Australian company launched a commercial gold mine operation in Mondulkiri province in June.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the vaccination campaign for teenagers aged 12 to 17 years, PM Hun Sen stated that the gold that has been extracted is not 100% purified.

According to HE Yos Monirath, Director General of Mines of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the company will export gold for purification in Australia, and currently, the company is preparing the relevant documents for export.

Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Ltd, is an Australian company with a gold mining license from the Ministry of Mines and Energy, with the mine located in the Okvav area in Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province. (Read more)
