Angkor Ticket Sales Propel Cambodia’s Tourism Revenue to New Heights With US$19.9m Revenue in 4 Months

Ticket sales for Angkor Wat have generated an impressive revenue of US$19,917,533 in the first four months of 2024. This substantial income surge, marking a 41.95% increase compared to the same period in 2023, underscores the enduring allure of Angkor Wat as a premier tourist destination.

The report, released by the Angkor Institute on 1 May 2024, reveals a remarkable uptick in revenue generation, indicative of the sustained interest among international visitors in Cambodia’s cultural treasures.

For the month of April 2024 alone, the Angkor Institute reaped US$3,384,240 from ticket sales, catering to 73,845 foreign tourists. This represents a significant 16.87% rise compared to March 2023, further highlighting the enduring appeal of Angkor Wat. The substantial revenue surge, coupled with an influx of foreign tourists, underscores the pivotal role of Angkor Wat in Cambodia’s tourism landscape.

Admission to Angkor for international tourists remains priced at US$37 per day, US$62 for three days, and US$72 per week, offering visitors flexible options to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site at their convenience. With the continued success of Angkor ticket sales, Cambodia’s tourism industry is poised for continued growth, cementing its position as a top cultural destination in the region.
