Cambodia-International Trade Valued at Over US$52bn in 2022

Cambodia-international trade volume reached approximately US$52.42 billion as of 2022, an 9.1% y-o-y increase, according to Minister of Commerce HE Pan Sorasak on 30 January. 

Cambodia’s export volume was at US$22.48 billion, a 6% y-o-y increase while import volume was at US$29.94 billion, also an increase of 4%. 

Meanwhile, the import value of construction materials, steel and cement saw a y-o-y adjustment of -1%, 22%, -43%, respectively. 

Compared to the previous year, Cambodia’s export volume continued to grow significantly as the kingdom reopened all economic and social activities since early November 2021. The vaccination rate in Cambodia is one of the highest in the region, and Cambodia has lifted all restrictions that affect trade. 

Since early 2020, Cambodian and global economies have been severely affected by COVID-19 and the effects of the Russia-Ukraine war. The Ministry of Commerce has boosted production to supply domestic demand and exports through diversified markets.
