Cambodia-Japan Digital Production Center Revolutionizes Industry 4.0 in Cambodia

The grand launch of the Cambodia-Japan Digital Production Center (CJDM) marks a significant leap towards embracing Industry 4.0 advancements in Cambodia. The inauguration ceremony, held on 24th May 2023, was graced by His Excellency Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, and HE UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia.

Situated within the esteemed Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), the CJDM Center represents a crucial milestone in training Cambodian talents for the era of Industry 4.0. The collaboration between the Royal Government of Japan, RUPP, and DMG MORI brings forth cutting-edge technology and expertise to bolster Cambodia’s scientific and technological advancements.

During a meeting between Samdech Hun Sen and Mr. MORI MASAHIKO, President of DMG MORI, the Industrial Digital Production Center was discussed as a joint project aimed at empowering Cambodia’s industry in the digital age. The introduction of state-of-the-art machinery, capable of addressing the evolving needs of the industry, further solidifies Cambodia’s position as a technological hub.

As Cambodia embarks on its digital journey, the nation has two primary objectives: first, to encourage investment in industries that facilitate the processing of raw materials for export; second, to attract new technologies that can be leveraged for local production. The CJDM Center stands as a testament to Cambodia’s commitment to fostering innovation, reducing waste, boosting productivity, and elevating product quality through cutting-edge CNC machines and digital technologies.

With the establishment of the CJDM Center, Cambodia aspires to emerge as a prominent player in advanced digital production within the region.
