Cambodia & Korea Approve Prioritised Projects Worth US$1.5B of Concession Loan Along with US$50 of Grant Aid

The Royal Government of Cambodia and the Republic of Korea have approved the prioritised projects in the Financing Cooperation Framework 2022-2026, which is worth about US$1.5 billion along with US$50 million of grant aid to develop key sectors in Cambodia.

According to a 4th Policy Dialogue on 13 June 2022, the amount of budget above will contribute to developing many key sectors such as national roads, rural roads, irrigation, energy, clean water and sanitation, health and telecommunications.

In the meeting, both parties also signed another concession loan agreement for Sustainable Rural Connectivity Improvement Project, which is worth about US$60 million.

From 1997 to 2022, the Republic of Korea has provided US$1.7 billion for Cambodia through Official Development Assistance (ODA), which includes a US$1.3 billion concession loan and US$455 million of grant aid.

Cambodia and Korea have pledged to further strengthen Official Development Assistance (ODA) within both concessional loans and grant aid framework, as well as the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP), especially Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and private investments.
