Cambodia Postpones Property Tax Obligations Until December 31, 2025

In a significant move for property owners, the General Department of Taxation in Cambodia has announced a postponement of property tax payments for the year 2025, extending the deadline to December 31, 2025. This announcement was made on October 9, 2025, providing much-needed relief to property stakeholders across the nation.

The General Department urges all property owners who have yet to register their properties or update their property information to do so at the provincial-district tax branch where their property is located before the new deadline. This extension allows for a smoother transition for property owners to comply with tax obligations.

In addition to the deadline extension, the state will continue its policy of exempting administrative penalties, which include additional taxes and interest, for property taxes. This applies to properties, whether titled or untitled, that have not been registered or declared in the past. Owners will be allowed to register and declare taxes retroactively from the year of last possession or benefit. Moreover, those who have previously registered but failed to declare taxes in certain years will also be granted exemptions from administrative penalties until the end of 2025.

For property owners who have already registered and updated their information in the General Department of Taxation’s property data management system and possess a property tax payment certificate, tax declarations can be made at the General Department of Taxation or at the respective provincial-district tax branch. Furthermore, payments can be completed at all commercial bank branches that have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, or conveniently through the taxpayer mobile application (GDT Taxpayer App).

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on property owners and streamlining the tax process in Cambodia.
