Cambodia is set to establish private trade centres in London and New Delhi to promote Cambodian products in international markets and draw foreign investors.

This initiative was discussed during a meeting on 20 January 2025, between Lok Chumteav Chamnimol, Minister of Commerce, Tycoon Lim Bunsour, CEO of AZ Group, and Mr. Jas Sohl, Director of SOHL.

Creating Cambodian private business centres abroad is seen as a pivotal step in showcasing the nation’s potential through product exhibitions. The centres will serve as vital gateways to promote Cambodia’s trade, investment opportunities, tourism, and cultural heritage to foreign traders and tourists.

As part of this effort, the Cambodian government and the private sector are committed to enhancing cooperation, specifically in exporting key Cambodian products, such as cashew nuts, to the UK and Indian markets.

In prior instances, Japanese companies have expressed interest in establishing a Cambodian private business centre and a Khmer village in Kanagawa prefecture, aiming to promote Khmer cultural traditions in Japan. Furthermore, the Ministry of Commerce previously set up a Cambodian private business centre in Macau to enhance access to overseas markets. (Read more, more, more and more)
