Cambodia to Launch ‘Green Industry Awards’ Competition to Encourage Sustainable Business Activities

The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTIC) will establish the “Cambodia Green Industry Awards” to encourage all companies, factories and enterprises in Cambodia to embrace more sustainable production and business activities.

According to ministry’s announcement on 5 July, the program aims to recognise and reward companies and factories for their usage of technologies and policies in the productions and supply chains that help protect and cause less harm to the environment.

The judgement will be based on many factors, such as environmental impact levels, resource and supply chain efficiency, clean production, accountability, environmental management systems, corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, among others.

The winners will not only receive the awards but will also be promoted publicly by the ministry. The winner will also get further support and consultation regarding their technologies or policies from the ministry for even better practices.

For those who are interested can request applications from the Office of the Cambodian Green Industry Award at the Ministry complex from today until 31 July.
