Cambodian government approves three more construction material factories

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approved three construction material investment projects in Sihanoukville and Svay Rieng provinces on 19 August with a total investment value of more than US$16 million.

The three firms, according to a CDC report, are Gorgeous Steel Structure (Cambodia), Chiang Cu Wire & Cable and Wing Art Lighting and Giftware.

Gorgeous Steel Structure (Cambodia) will invest US$6 million to build a steel processing plant in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone.

Meanwhile, Chiang Cu Wire & Cable will set up a US$3.2 million wire and cable factory in the Giga Resources Special Economic Zone in Svay Rieng province. Meanwhile, Wing Art Lighting and Giftware will invest US$7.4 million to build a lighting equipment factory in the Tai Seng Bavet Special Economic Zone also in Svay Rieng province.

According to CDC, these three projects will help create up to 700 jobs for Cambodians.

Within this quarter, the CDC has approved at least eight projects worth over US$200 million, most of which are construction material factories and hotel projects. (Read More and More)
