Cambodia’s First Regional Nursery Nears 20% Completion, Pioneering Green Initiatives in Tbong Khmum

Cambodia’s first regional nursery, located in Preah Theat commune, Ou Raing Ov district, Tbong Khmum province, has reached 20% completion, marking significant progress in the country’s ambitious reforestation efforts. The update came during an inspection visit by HE Dr Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, on 8 October 2024.

Set across more than 3 hectares, this pioneering nursery is designed to serve as a national model, equipped with a solar-powered automatic irrigation system and other advanced infrastructure to support large-scale tree planting efforts.

HE Dr. Eang Sophalleth highlighted that the project aims to accelerate completion and contribute to planting over 1 million trees, aligning with the Royal Government’s vision for carbon neutrality by 2050.

With support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Coca-Cola Cambodia, local authorities, and community members, this initiative is a collaborative effort to enhance Cambodia’s environmental sustainability. (Read more)
