Cambodia’s Second EV Charging Station Launched

The second electric vehicle charging station in Cambodia has been officially launched as the government has been promoting the use of electric vehicles.

This new EV charging station is located at the 50th Caltex gas station in Sangkat Prey Sa in Dangkor district.

The charging station is the second following the first one launched at the Ministry of Public Works in March with the help of UNDP.

According to Minister of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol, another charging station will be launched on 27 April in Sihanoukville, while two others in Siem Reap and Battambang are set to open next month

The number of EV registrations increased by 700% in the first quarter of 2022, from seven vehicles in the first quarter of 2021 to 47 vehicles in the first quarter of 2022, said HE Sun Chanthol.
