Cambodia’s Trade Surges to USD 9.44 Billion in Early 2025

In a promising start to the year, Cambodia’s international trade volume soared to approximately USD 9.44 billion during the first two months of 2025, marking a remarkable 16.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to a recent report from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia.

Export activities also showed positive growth, with goods valued at USD 4.46 billion shipped overseas, reflecting an 11.9% rise. Meanwhile, imports climbed even higher, reaching USD 4.987 billion—a significant increase of 20.6%.

The United States remains a key market for Cambodian exports, with a trade volume of USD 1.626 billion recorded. Vietnam also represents a crucial trade partner, contributing significantly to export figures. Notably, China has solidified its position as Cambodia’s largest importer, with an impressive USD 2.444 billion worth of goods traded, a 24% increase compared to the same timeframe last year.

Cambodia’s diverse export portfolio consists of clothing, machinery, electrical equipment, footwear, grains, furniture, rubber, fruits, vegetables, pearls, toys, and textiles, showcasing the country’s robust manufacturing and agricultural sectors.

As these numbers reveal, Cambodia’s trade landscape is evolving, highlighting the country’s growing economic engagement on the global stage.
