Chinese Firm Mulls Investing US$2bn to Establish LNG Plants in Cambodia

A Chinese firm, in cooperation with local company LSCG Real Estate, has unveiled plans to invest over US$2 billion establishing LNG production plants and special economic zones in Sihanoukville, Koh Kong, Kep and Kampot.

According to LSCG CEO Ly Sok Chhay, he and his team have already met with the four provincial governors to discuss the project plans, citing the project has thus far been receiving positive feedbacks.

Mr Sok Chhay also announced that he is also seeking local investment partners.

LSCG has thus far won bids on some of OCIC’s projects already such as the new Phnom Penh Airport project, and the Boeung 500 project, among others.
