Chinese Firm Seeks Investment Opportunity on Construction Materials Research Center

Sinosteel New Material Co Ltd, a Chinese firm expert with magnetic material engineering research centre from Henan province, China has raised its investment plan building construction materials research centre in Cambodia, as the country’s construction sector is booming.

Mao Haibo, director of Sinosteel New Material, raised up the investment plan in a meeting held on December 16 with H.E. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of Industry and Handicraft.

Mr Mao said that the firm has wished to invest in the commercial centre providing service on checking and testing the quality of construction materials including cement, concrete, pipe, and electrical wire… while Cambodia developing strongly in the infrastructure and construction.

He said the investment is made amid the company sees the strong growth of infrastructure and construction development in Cambodia.

H.E. Cham Prasidh welcomed the company’s investment plan and said that the investment is in line with Cambodia is in need the service on the construction sector.

H.E. Cham Prasidh recommended the company to conducts studies more and talk with Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction to understand more over the sector, particularly to understand the sector after a collapsed building case in Preah Sihanoukville province, the minister insisted to form a national laboratory for construction and research centre for construction.
