Chinese firms plan to expand their investments by establishing more garment factories in Cambodia

Two Chinese companies, Fortune Rich Trade Co., Ltd. and Ju Wang Footwear Co., Ltd., have announced plans to significantly expand their investments in Cambodia’s women’s and children’s clothing manufacturing sector. This development was revealed during a meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet on November 6, 2024, in Kunming, Yunnan Province, coinciding with the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit.

During the meeting, the executives from both companies expressed their appreciation to the Cambodian government for fostering a stable and welcoming investment climate. They shared success stories from their operations in Cambodia and laid out plans to establish additional garment factories aimed at exporting women’s and children’s clothing to international markets.

Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated the companies on their achievements and highlighted the growth of Cambodia’s textile and garment sector. He attributed this success to the various supportive policies implemented by the Royal Government to encourage foreign investments.

This initiative marks a significant step in Cambodia’s pursuit of becoming a key player in the global textile industry. It underscores the vital role of international partnerships in enhancing the country’s economic development.
