CVEA, AVA Mull Establishing Standardised Guidelines for ASEAN Real Estate Evaluators

The ASEAN Valuers Association (AVA) and Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association (CVEA) have vowed to enhance the capacity of their real estate agents, with plans to establish shared guidelines and standards to regulate and certify real estate agents among all member countries.

CVEA Secretary-General Susan Widjojo made the remarks at a press conference on Wednesday 3 November.

Ms Widjojo said that the shared guidelines would help real estate agents in all member countries obtain an equal level of knowledge, capacity, and potential. It also helps the AVA and the associations of each country to effectively manage their real estate agents.

“Nevertheless, certified agents based on these guidelines who wish to work abroad are still subject to the rules and regulations in each country,” she added.

This year, Cambodia will host the 23rd AVA Congress Meeting, which will take place on 24-25 November.

Mr Chrek Soknim, President of AVA and CVEA, said that the congress meeting will mainly discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the real estate sector and future plans to boost this sector in the upcoming years.
