ADB and two major Cambodian institutions are working to accelerate Cambodia’s development activities

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is collaborating with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Cambodia Development Research Institute (CDRI) to implement a five-year strategy for Cambodia’s development.

The initiative aims to accelerate private sector development and enhance climate resilience.

A recent discussion at the Battambang Pedagogical Institute (BTEC) on September 26, 2024, brought together about 100 representatives from relevant institutions, educational institutions, and the private sector to share their views on national priorities for inclusive growth and ADB’s strategic response to emerging challenges.

ADB is a significant source of official development assistance for Cambodia, with an average annual loan of about $360 million from 2019 to 2023.

The bank’s support aligns with the national strategy and focuses on agriculture, natural resources, rural development, education, energy, finance, health, industry and commerce, public management, transportation, urban infrastructure, and other services.
