ADB Receives US$300 million for Green Projects in ASEAN, Cambodia Included

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has recently received US$300 million from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) for its ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility’s (ACGF) Green Recovery Programme.

Cambodia is one of the locations where ADB will implement a 40-megawatt solar power plant.

The project is currently in public bidding procedure, according to the Ministry of Mines and Energy’s Spokesman Victor Jona.

“This is not the first time ADB has funded green projects in Cambodia. Last time, a Thai-owned renewable energy firm Prime Road Power Co won the first bidding for a 60-megawatt solar power plant which is also funded by ADB,” said HE Victor Jona.

“We would like to express sincere thanks to ADB for supporting many green power projects in Cambodia. With the participation of the private sector, ADB has been involved in many projects such as solar farms, hydropower and biomass projects,” he added.
