Aeon Sen Sok has largest rooftop solar system among other malls in Cambodia

Japanese firm Aeon Mall (Cambodia) earlier this year added 2.19MWp solar panel to the existing 1.03MWp system on the rooftop of its Aeon Sen Sok, making the mall having largest rooftop solar power system among shopping malls in Cambodia.

The total 3MWp solar panel covers 10,490 sqm on the staffs parking lot, cinema roof, main sandwich roof, TV studio roof, and customer motorbike parking lot.

The installation of additional solar panels aims to help reduce electricity consumption in order to solve the energy shortage due to the increasing demand for electricity day by day in the country, the company said.

By using renewable energy with environmental considerations to reduce CO2 emissions, the Company also planned to add extra solar panels to AEON MALL Phnom Penh which is currently under major renovation and expansion project, the firm added.

“We hope that this action will make a significant contribution to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Cambodia,” read the press release.
