Amcham establishes real estate and construction committee

With Cambodia’s real estate and construction sectors booming and increasing numbers of international companies entering the market, a growing number of specialised business chamber committees are also emerging.

One recent example is the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) which has established a real estate and construction committee to serve as a platform for information sharing and discussion on matters relating to these sectors in Cambodia.

Chaired by Mr Alexander Evengroen of UK Condo & Construction Co, Ltd, the newly-formed AmCham committee is now looking for people and companies in the real estate and construction sectors to work together to promote the raising of standards.

“We are looking for qualified and highly motivated people to join us and create great high quality opportunities for our members and the industry”, Mr Evengroen wrote in an email response to Construction & Property Magazine.

With an optimistic view of the sector and the many opportunities arising in the coming years, such as the construction of plotted land projects, Mr Evengroen is confident that high quality products will be delivered.

“The plotted land sector, condo’s, borey’s and other developments are starting to get shape and more people from Cambodia as well as abroad are eager to join in”, he said, while adding that “this also creates mega opportunities as well as a big responsibility for the market to make sure we provide the highest quality, great service, share knowledge and opportunities that will benefit all”.

With the goal to promote Cambodia’s business profile to the US and vice versa, AmCham currently has close to 150.
