Angkor Wat Named Best Place to Watch Sunrise in the World in 2023

In a recent poll conducted by morninglife.co.uk, Angkor Wat of Cambodia has been voted as the “Best Place to See the Sunrise in the World” in 2023, according to data gathered from US tourism website Trip Advisor reviews.  

The iconic temple received a total of 10,404 votes, more than double the votes of the second-ranked Haleakala Crater in America, which received only 3,933 votes. The website emphasised that Angkor Wat is not only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world but also a UNESCO World Heritage site with a rich cultural history that makes it a must-visit attraction. 

In addition to the breath-taking sunrise view, Angkor Wat boasts stunning sunset views, making it a tourist must-see attraction. Other popular destinations in the poll include Taj Mahal in India, ranked 4th, Borobudur Temple in Indonesia, ranked 5th, and Uluru in Australia. The rankings prove that Asia is home to some of the world’s most beautiful sunrise and sunset spots. 

Furthermore, Siem Reap, the gateway city to Angkor Wat, has been ranked as the 4th most popular tourist destination in the world by Trip Advisor. This ranking solidifies Cambodia’s position as a must-visit destination in Southeast Asia. 

Angkor Wat’s recognition as the best place to watch the sunrise in the world in 2023 is a testament to Cambodia’s beauty, cultural richness, and status as a top tourist destination.
