Avani Hotels Officially Opens First Property in Siem Reap

After six months of renovation by Thai hotel chain Avani, the French colonial architecture-styled Foreign Correspondents’ Club has been officially re-opened under the new name of ‘FCC Angkor managed by Avani Hotels & Resorts.

Located a 20-minute drive from Siem Reap’s airport, this new hotel comprises 80 rooms and suites decorated in vintage style. The property was also designed by keeping the mood of the historical journalist newsroom by including items such as typewriters and framed front pages of regional newspapers.

This newly-refurbished hotel also includes the restored Mansion restaurant, a newly-built bar called Scribe, a Visaya Spa, two outdoor saltwater pools, as well as surrounding gardens, according to TTG.

At the beginning of the renovation, Dillip Rajakarier CEO of Minor Hotels expressed his optimism that their first entry into Cambodia signalled an ongoing commitment to offering an upscale experience to all intrepid travellers to Cambodia. (Read more)
