Cambodia and Switzerland work together to promote Blockchain technology in smart city development in Cambodia

The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation has partnered with the DFINITY Foundation, a Swiss non-profit organization, to promote Blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in support of Cambodia’s technology infrastructure projects, and brilliant cities.

The collaboration was made possible by signing a letter of intent with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation at Singapore Blockchain Technology Week on September 19, 2024.

His Excellency Dr. Hul Seangheng, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, said: ICP technology. The partnership will also provide Cambodian institutions with the opportunity to collaborate with educational institutions, both local and international, to promote joint research and innovation projects supported by the world’s major blockchain technologies. ”

He added that by integrating blockchain technology into national infrastructure projects, we aim to create secure, transparent and comprehensive solutions that will drive smart city efforts as well as promote the economy and digital society as a whole.

Dominic Williams, Founder and Chief Scientist of the DFINITY Foundation believes that blockchain technology and artificial intelligence can revolutionize Cambodia’s technology and digital infrastructure by strengthening Cambodia’s economic potential in the digital age. The scope and transparency of ICP technology will strengthen Cambodia’s smart city development efforts by building a secure, transparent and stable infrastructure.

This collaboration will also push Cambodia to become a regional hub for knowledge, innovation and skills on the use of blockchain technology for smart cities.
